Cafe Translation: one sentence, three temperatures

At a cafe table, Mira gives a translation ritual for finding the emotional temperature before the polished sentence.

A sentence has weather before it has grammar.

At the cafe table, write the sentence once for accuracy, once for temperature, and once for courage. Accuracy asks what happened. Temperature asks how close the hand should be to the glass. Courage asks what the sentence is allowed to admit without decorating itself.

The first version can be plain. I missed the train. I wanted to stay. I did not know how to answer. Plain is not a failure. Plain is where the room stops pretending.

The second version listens for warmth. Is the sentence cool because it is calm, or because it is hiding? Is it warm because it is alive, or because it is trying to be liked? Translation is not only between languages. Sometimes it is between self-protection and truth.

The third version removes one performance. Not all of them. Just one. The sentence should still be yours when it leaves the notebook, but it should not need a costume to survive the table.
