Before The Reservation: coffee buys the evening a spine
Rafe sketches the pre-dinner pause that makes plans feel chosen instead of rushed.

I like getting close to the reservation early and giving the night ten minutes before it starts. Not to rehearse. To stop dragging the whole day through the door behind me.
A good pre-plan pause has one job: make the first conversation cleaner. Check the route, silence the extra thread, remember one thing you are actually curious about.
